The Temple Beth Shalom Library is open for use by members and others in the community. Located on the second floor of the temple, across from the communication office, it operates on the honor system, always open and accessible when the synagogue building is open.

The library’s collection consists of adult books of Jewish interest, fiction and nonfiction, organized in board subject categories, such as Israel, Judaism, Holocaust, art, history and biography. There is also a special section of books focusing on Jewish women’s issues. The scope of the collection is broad, including titles on a wide variety of subjects, the majority of them in English. In addition to books, the library has a collection of magazines and newspapers of Jewish interest, as well as audio and video cassettes. These materials may be taken out for a period of two weeks.

To help the expand the collection, the library depends on donations from interested Temple members and the broader Jewish community. Donated books are welcome if they deal with a subject of Jewish interest (nonfiction) or are written by a Jewish author (fiction). Support of the library through monetary donations or contributions of cooks and other materials is always appreciated.

Another important way of supporting the library is through using it. Take advantage of the opportunity to read Jewish books and learn more about the rich history, philosophy and culture of our religion and our people.

     La biblioteca del Templo Beth Shalom  está disponible para el uso de sus miembros y miembros de otras comunidades. Está ubicada en el segundo piso de nuestras instalaciones, en la oficina de comunicaciones. Su acceso está siempre libre cuando el edificio de la sinagoga está abierto.
     La colección de la biblioteca consiste en libros de temas judíos, de ficción y no-ficción, organizados por categorías, tales como Israel, Judaísmo, Shoa, arte, historia y biografías. También hay una sección dedicada a temas vinculados al papel de la mujer en el judaísmo. La colección abarca un amplio espectro de contenidos, tanto en libros, como en diarios y revistas de temas judíos. Asimismo contamos con un archivo de audio y vídeo.
     Los materiales pueden ser solicitados en préstamos por dos semanas.
Para ayudar a ampliar la colección, la biblioteca depende de las donaciones de sus miembros y de la comunidad judía en general. Las donaciones son bienvenidas, si tratan algún tema judío, en los casos de no-ficción, o si son escritos por un autor judío, en los casos de libros de ficción. El apoyo económico o de materiales para la biblioteca es siempre bienvenido.
     Otra forma de apoyar la biblioteca es a través de su uso. Aproveche esta oportunidad de leer literatura judía y aprender sobre la rica historia, filosofía y cultura de nuestra religión y nuestro pueblo.
